Where Is Your Mind Set?

"Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth"
Col 3:2.
The above verse is such a good reminder. In a world filled with so much noise, constant influence, materialism, and endless media, setting our minds on the things of heaven often takes a back seat. Yet, as pilgrims on our journey to our heavenly home, it is essential that our minds remain fixed on eternity so that we do not stray from the narrow path.
Setting our minds on the things of this earth will only delay and hinder our walk with the Lord. The song in this post is one of my favorites. It says, “If You’re speaking, then I want to hear every word,” and later, “I’ve been straying; lead me back to the straight and narrow road.”
What a powerful prayer. It’s a reminder that our hearts are prone to wander and that we constantly need the Lord to guide us back to Him.
We often forget that Jesus Himself said the road that leads to life is narrow, while the road that leads to destruction is broad and easy to travel. The world constantly pulls us toward the wide road with its distractions, comforts, and empty promises, but Christ calls us to walk the narrow path that leads to eternal life.
May our minds be set on the things of heaven so that we can clearly hear His voice, faithfully follow Him, and never lose sight of our eternal home.
